You Watch Us Run

Is anyone else really wondering about this The Name of the Doctor still of the Doctor tearing up?
What strikes me as odd (well, besides the fact that the 11th Doctor seldom ever cries) is the setting. Look closely. He appears to be sitting on something, perhaps a couch/sofa. But the most significant part is the lighting. Doesn’t that room (or whatever setting he’s in) seem awfully bright?
What a contrast to what we’ve seen virtually everywhere else in the episode so far (including these stills, just to name a few):

It all is so dark, and yet this still, where the Doctor is properly crying, looks to be in a different setting.
So, what’s going on here?
My guess is (based on the Doctor’s tears) that this is either the moment he reveals his name/greatest secret, or part of his ‘emotional,’ but ‘not at all sad’ goodbye to River.
